Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics companies in Norway merge

As of 1 November 2011, four of the coadjutant companies in Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics will merge into one firm. This company will become one of the largest, private logistics companies in Norway with branches in Moss, Drammen, Kristiansand and Bergen. The merger will generate higher competitive power both nationally and internationally. The aim is to develop into the utmost appealing logistics company in the country.

Focus on three business areas
With broad expertise and knowledge as the basis of the firm, the attention is now turned to the development of three service divisions;Forwarding & Logistics, Project Logistics & Shipping and Terminal & Port Logistics. In addition to the physical facilities, the experienced and knowledgeable coworkers will be the most important resources to our business.

Organization in three regions
Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics will be organized as three regions in the Norwegian market. Region Oslofjord, managed by Thomas
Arbo Høeg, Region South, managed by Bjørn Width, and Region West, managed by Øyvind Lygre. These regions will form an effective product with a presence in strategic ports in southern Norway. The reorganization will not require any relocation of employees.

Facing competition from abroad
During the past few years, the transportation- and the logistics industry have become progressively international. This induces higher competition from large, global participants. In order to succeed in this competition, volume and efficiency will be ever more imperative. Due to this merger, Norway will have a prominent participant capable to face the future.
